Since the original sin, humanity has pushed back against God's truth and what Christians were called to be. Personal aspirations and the desire for social and political relevance have driven many churches in America to the brink of the absurd and acceptance of immorality, undermining Christ's mission. Instead of leading a mass harvest of souls into the kingdom of Christ, we have facilitated a mass exodus away from righteousness and truth and toward the acceptance of sin and hypocrisy. With the very existence of our families, communities, and nation at stake, the cost of falling away from our purpose has never been more pronounced.
Having received the call of God at an early age, Pastor Harvey Burnett is the founder and chief servant of the New Bethel COGIC of Peoria, IL. He is also a proud husband of over 40 years and the father of two adult children.
Pastor Burnett is also the founder of I Am My Brother's Keeper Christian Advocacy Council (IMBKCAC), an organization established to provide a voice to survivors of church-related abuse and sexual abuse. He is also the founder of Dunamis Insurance & Business Services, a leading independent insurance brokerage firm, Peoria Inner City Track Club, a youth track club serving youth from ages 8 to 18, and the Peoria Pastors for Community & Spiritual Renewal. In addition, Pastor Burnett engages the community of faith, believers and non believers at his online blog, The Dunamis Word, The Dunamis Word II at Wordpress and In Defense Of The Faith group on Facebook.
